The retail segment originated from Intime Department Store (Wulin Outlet) founded by Mr. Shen Guojun in Hangzhou in 1998, which covers department stores, shopping malls and other business formats, and is the leader,innovator and driver of China's retail industry.
In 2007, Intime Department Store became the first mainland Chinese department store listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (ticker code: 01833.HK), and set a record of being more than 240 times oversubscribed. In 2009, while consolidating its department store advantages, Yintai took the lead in the industry in strategically pivoting from department stores to shopping malls, giving full impetus to the development of urban complexes, shopping malls, and “Internet+” products. In 2010, yintai.com was established, and Intime Department Store became the first traditional retail department store to invest heavily in setting up a joint venture and test the waters in e-commerce. In 2013, Intime Department Store (Group) Co., Ltd. was officially renamed Intime Retail (Group) Co., Ltd. In 2014, it embarked on strategic cooperation with Alibaba. In June of the same year, it launched “in”, a new high-end commercial operation brand. In 2015, Yintai strengthened its in-depth cooperation with Alibaba Group and promoted the Internetization process of Intime Retail, which has become a model for the integration of traditional retail industry and the Internet. This innovative move effectively promoted the Internetization of the retail department store industry, guided the transformation and upgrading of the traditional retail department store industry across the country, and became a model for the continuous innovation and transformation of the domestic retail industry.
